29/11/2024 – A MEMORABLE MILESTONE
FOR THE FINANCIAL AND ACCOUNTING INDUSTRY
IFRS IS OFFICIALLY APPROVED BY THE XV NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF VIETNAM

The law will be passed by the National Assembly this afternoon, including the Law on Securities, Accounting, and Independent Auditing. IFRS is stipulated in Clause 2, ARTICLE 2, page 10, which assigns the Ministry of Finance to guide the subjects, scope, and procedures… applicable in Vietnam.

After countless days and nights of going early and coming back late, with thousands of pages of explanatory documents, dozens of meetings, and times when I wanted to give up, the door is now about to open to provide more motivation to continue a long journey ahead for both IFRS and VFRS.

This is a great start, a strong step forward in the integration of the global economy. This also means that in the coming time, we will have a lot of work to do to actually bring IFRS into life. Therefore, each of us needs to make more efforts from today.

Once again, I would like to commend and thank the Vietnamese National Assembly!
